High temperature corrosion memory in a waste fired boiler – Influence of sulfur

نویسندگان

چکیده

The selection of fuel for a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant can vary over time. By choosing less expensive fuels, operation costs are reduced, however, cheaper fuels generally increase corrosion maintenance costs. corrosiveness different has been studied extensively while how the current attack is influenced by history, i.e. previous deposit build-up oxide scale formation, studied. This phenomenon may be referred to as “corrosion memory” effect (Paz et al., 2017). present work investigates influence addition sulfur on memory through air-cooled probes in Waste-to Energy lines at Måbjerg Center (MEC) Denmark. results show effect, initially corrosive environment subsequent rate vice versa.

Furnace Wall Corrosion in a Wood-fired Boiler

The use of renewable wood-based fuel has been increasing in the last few decades because it is said to be carbon neutral. However, wood-based fuel, and especially used wood (also known as recycled wood or waste wood), is more corrosive than virgin wood (forest fuel), because of higher amounts of chlorine and heavy metals. These elements increase the corrosion problems at the furnace walls where...

Speciation of Copper in Ash from a Fluidized-Bed Boiler Fired with Municipal Solid Waste

Copper is one of the most important trace elements in municipal solid waste (MSW) combustion. Knowledge of the speciation of copper is fundamental for the understanding of the effects of copper compounds on the combustion chemistry, for the evaluation of the environmental effects of copper in ash leachates and for the development of methods to recover copper from the MSW combustion ash. In this...
